Building a Welcoming Watertown

You're invited to join Watertown area congregations for a time of community, conversation, and Christian welcome where we can build a more inclusive community — together!

We'll gather for our second event on Sunday, November 5 from 12:30pm-2:30pm in the Community Room at the Watertown Public Library. A lunch will be provided.

We will be joined by David Liners, a Watertown native and Executive Director of WISDOM.

Learn more about David:

David Liners is a proud native of Watertown, the youngest child of Robert and Lois Liners. He is now the Executive Director for WISDOM, a Wisconsin network of faith-based organizations, part of the international Gamaliel Foundation. WISDOM is a multi-issue, grassroots organization. Congregations belonging to 19 different religious traditions participate in WISDOM.

Over the past twenty years, David has overseen the growth of the statewide network from three to twelve diverse, interfaith local organizations in Wisconsin. His duties include leadership training, supervision of organizing staff, and working with local and state leadership groups to develop solid plans for community-building.

A notable recent evolution of WISDOM to include formerly incarcerated (and some currently-incarcerated) people, and the Menikanaehkem organization on the Menominee reservation as integral parts of the WISDOM network.

He holds a BA from Marquette University, a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from St. Mary of the Lake University in Mundelein, IL.
